Welcome to 'Minch View', Scouriemore
'Minch View' Bed & Breakfast, is located on
the edge of Scourie, on the the north-west coast of Scotland in
a scenic area of the Highlands, 95 miles north of Inverness and
40 miles north of Ullapool.
Set in its own garden, 'Minch View' has stunning
views over Scourie Bay as well as over The Minch towards the Outer
Hebrides, which can regularly be seen, although this cannot be guaranteed!
'Minch View' is a modern croft house owned and
run by Mrs Christine MacDonald. It can comfortably cater for seven
guests with two double rooms, a twin & a single together with
two bathrooms, one with shower.
An evening meal is provided on request, with good
wholesome home cooking, and vegetarian food available.
Families and pets are welcome.
There is ample parking and a children's play area
in a quiet location with beautiful panoramic views over Scourie
village & bay, The Minch, Handa Island, Ben Stack & Arkle.
All this from your breakfast table!
The dramatic surroundings of North West Sutherland
are ideal for hillwalking, cycling, as well as fresh & saltwater
fishing. There is an abundance of wildlife; you can watch deer,
seals, otters and many different varieties of bird, all within a
few minutes of 'Minch View'. An absolute 'must' is a boat trip to
the bird sanctuary on Handa Island.
The well appointed village has two hotels, a restaurant, a well
stocked shop & Post Office, doctor's surgery and village hall
with visiting bank.
Scourie Bay is fed by the Gulf Stream and has
a safe shallow beach with small pier making it ideal for paddling,
windsurfing or canoeing - and it boast the Northernmost palm trees
in Scotland!
